Proper instructions ensure that your participants can find you and will arrive ready and equipped!
What to include:
- Let people know if there are facilities on-site (ex: bathrooms, drinking water).
- Let them know what equipment is provided and/or what they should bring
- What should they wear? Consider whether they need to dress for the weather, or specific clothing that will help them to participate better (ex: running shoes, loose clothing, hat, gloves, etc.)
- Provide specific instructions on where to meet or how to access your location. Be as specific as possible. Provide detailed directions and mention landmarks if applicable (ex: at the statue in the park, or use the back entrance to the school behind the metro)
- Give any other important info to prepare them for the activity (if there are lockers, changing rooms, where they can leave their valuables, if they should bring food or drinks or if there is somewhere to buy nearby)
*Always encourage participants to bring a water bottle!
